Research
*THIS PAGE WILL BE ADDED TO THROUGHOUT THE SEMESTER AS WE LEARN MORE ABOUT RESEARCH*

To begin, you must approach research from here on out as a student of higher education. Basically, the main concept that I want you to learn first is that whenever you make a statement or claim in any sort of formalized paper (unless advised otherwise), you should do your absolute best to back this information up with research. It does not matter if you "think" something, your thoughts gain weight when you back them up with evidence. This goes far beyond psychology classes. This skill of backing information up with evidence will benefit you in each and every class you take.
What is considered evidence? While much can be gained from your textbook, magazines, online information sites, youtube, etc., it does not count as evidence of a theory, concept, cause of a phenomenon, etc. What does count as evidence for these things are academic journal articles. These can be found by searching topics on the Academic Search Complete.
